The iStorage DiskGenie encrypted hard drive range (also now known as the DiskG range – thanks for that iStorage branding team!) is a series of portable external hard drives designed with security as a key feature – this is delivered through PIN code access (using a personalised access code that you choose on installation of between 6 and 16 characters). You can get pretty much any size of drive up to 1TB, including the 640GB device reviewed here. The drive’s security credentials are further confirmed by it being the only portable hard drive to have been awarded the government CESG CCTM accreditation. All in all, this is the drive for you if you need that extra level of security for any files you have stored on it.
